Buenos Aires, November 16 (NA) — Martín Murano, son of María de las Mercedes 'Yiya' Murano, one of the most enigmatic and remembered figures of the Argentine crime genre, made statements about the new series that will be made about his mother and stated that he is not interested in watching it. Martín gave his testimony on 'Pasa Montagna,' the program conducted by Pablo Montagna on Radio Rivadavia AM 630, and with a firm tone, he made clear his stance on the series about to be released. 'It is a fiction, as I have said several times, that bears little resemblance to reality, from what I have been told,' he assured. According to what Argentine News Agency (NA) learned, the son of the controversial Yiya explained that he has no interest in watching the production and that the first images that circulated were enough to confirm his decision. 'Honestly, I'm not interested in seeing it, because the previews they showed me were enough for me to know I didn't need to watch it,' he said. In this sense, Murano urged caution and emphasized that the true reconstruction of the facts will come in another format, one very far from fiction. 'To know the truth, you have to wait until next year to see the Netflix documentary. This series is a fiction, I stick to that,' he affirmed, clearly differentiating the documentary work from the new production that can be seen on streaming platforms. Yiya Murano gained public notoriety in the 70s, when she was accused and later convicted of the murder of three friends from the social circle she frequented, an event that the press dubbed 'The Poisoner of Monserrat'.
